Interesting montage; eating the apple forward then backwards could be taken as a parabole of what is happening with the computer company (not the fruit), in which the star thinker/CEO is in recluse while new blood is trying to follow his guidance and/or track and not really knowing if they will succeed or please the semi-retired Elder.
I also think it works great as a parody of the economic times we are walking through.

Eating fish out of existence is impossible in our free market global economy. As the supply of fish is reduced the prices will rise, hence reducing the overall demand for fish, the fish population will expand prices will drop consumption will go up and start the cycle all over again. I would be more worried about running out of money than fish.
