If you were to ask me where I get my news I would best fit into the online news crowd. Most of my news comes from sources like CNN, NY Times, Digg, Twitter, Slashdot, etc. However, I do enjoy watching the NBC Nightly News via their video podcast. It's nice to see a familiar face telling me about the world's daily event. I don't rely on just once source for my news, but I also don't read all of my news sources everyday either.

Based on the interviews in your fun yet scary segment, I think Walter Cronkite probably exited this mortal coil just in time to preserve his sanity.

Worth doing sometime: Look around the CBS website to find a full, half-hour broadcast of Walter Cronkite's. It will shock you how unlike today's broadcast news it is. Stories were covered far more… Read More thoroughly. Both sides were given ample time to articulate their case. Cronkite's political beliefs were completely hidden. The 30-second soundbite was really 30 seconds, not five seconds like it is today. And no celebs!

Cronkite would've put Michael Jackson's death at the end of his broadcast, giving his age, suspected cause of death and a sentence summarizing his career, perhaps over a short clip from “Billie Jean.”

I believe society will always look to a groomed face to hear them espouse the day's events. They will find one with whom they are comfortable with their individual politics and use the experience to find comfort in their own personal choices to perhaps assuage the pain of their own position whether it be in the majority or minority. It matters not … Read Morewhere we get it, online or on the air, I think the overwhelming majority of people will continue to cleave to a figurehead to make sense of it all. It's just easier these days to find one who conforms to ones own bias.

I think it comes down to my belief that people like to be tucked into bed with the days events wrapped up in a nice little ball with the assurance that they're on the winning team.

Cronkite's era ended about four decades ago.

not much of a surprise to me but look at the age difference in the people that said they get their news from TV and those who get it from the internet only.

I only watch news that has been auto-tuned.

I get drive-by news when I'm on the internet and the homepage comes up and catches my eye, or when the news-junkie I live with has CNN/MSNBC blaring …usually have to turn it off to get a word in.
