Think 3-Day weekends are reserved for holidays? The state of Utah is currently testing a system that would change typical work hours from 9-5 to 8-6 and giving employees Fridays off. What do you think about that? Amanda and Andrew debate.

'm working through a 65 hour week right now and can definitely agree that more hours per day, less days per week sounds like a GREAT idea.

No. But I frequently wish I could work less hours/days in the day so I could spend more time with family and friends

Besides whats the real trade off in hours in the day for an extra day in the week unless our family/children/friends have the same choice?

What's the trade off? Yeah, I spend so much time getting ready for and winding down from work that I'd LOVE to work 10 hour days to get 3 days off. The payoff would be more QUALITY time with the family

i work with people who love the 12 hr/d, 4 day workweek. Eliminates all that travel and gettingreadyforwork time on day 5, and such a psychological benefit knowing when Thurs PM comes your done, with a 3-day weekend every week. Not so sweet when you have to flex your day off, however, but if it's Mon or Fri every time, that's sweet, no doubt.

I loved this episode. The controverse is my fav of your segs. I want to see the chronicles of the skateboarding gang of venice beach. I also think that you should learn to surf….I just kind of think it would be cool. It would be like Rocky except that you aren't really training for an event….just for life. Oh except watch out for sharks. As I'm sure you know it's Shark Week on the Discovery Channel and I just watched an hour long special in which wouldbe surfers were brutally mauled by sharks several of which died but don't let that stop you.

hah… btw, coincidentally, i've been working a 4-day week for a couple years and it is the best thing ever. i wish all my coworkers could have this schedule, and i think they could if the clients did it, too.

I think a 4-day work week is an awesome ideas. It saves money for companies and gives employees that extra day for personal relaxation or projects. Great post guys!
