Thanks for reminding me to give my father my husband's shotgun tonight. Ooh, that kinda sounds dirty, doesn't it?

I earned a "sharpshooter" certification from the NRA with a .22 when I was a kid. I've shot revolvers, Glocks and various rifles and shotguns over the years. My favorite is the 30.06, which is pretty easy to handle and still packs a serious wallop.

I briefly owned a .38 special for protection on the road, but sold it the night after the truck I was sleeping in got burglarized, and I had to contemplate actually shooting someone.

Leon, I honor your decision, but I'd rather they got shot than die myself, just sayin'...

Rick, it will if you get one that's sharp enough....
  • have you ever shot a gun?
  • Rick
I don't own a gun, and at my wife's request I won't, but I have shot many guns, and it's fun. And I do keep a katana next to my bed. It doesn't make as much noise, and there's no danger of me hurting anyone in the next room should I miss.

I used to have a Colt Anaconda and a Cobra. One was a 357 and one was a 44 magnum. Lots of fun to target shoot but I got rid of them when kids moved into my life. I do think if criminals think you might be packing heat they are less likely to do crimes to you. Of course - if local regulations prohibit gun possession , you could always keep a samurai sword handy.
